Is There a Necessity for All Natural Healthy Skin Care Recipes?

Looking for some all natural healthy skin care recipes? The effective ones depend on your overall goal. Let’s start with cleansing.

Orange oil is an effective cleanser, although it is not possible to extract the oil from the peel, at home. Colloidal oatmeal is a good and soothing cleanser, but that’s not what’s found in your box of Quaker oats.

Tea tree oil, witch hazel and manuka honey have antibacterial and antioxidant activity. But, you can’t make any of those at home, either. You can order active manuka honey from New Zealand, but it is intended to be taken orally or applied to injuries and covered with a band-aid. In order for it to work as a general cleanser, it must be dehydrated and then added to emollients. Again, that’s something that you can’t do at home.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of safe skincare solutions, it’s just that most of the all natural healthy skin care recipes that you see on the internet are unlikely to be beneficial or effective. I believe in avoiding artificial preservatives, added fragrances and dyes, as well as petrochemicals, because many of them contribute to our cancer risk.

I also believe in letting the experts develop my skincare solutions. I just don’t rely on the cosmetic industry, anymore. They are experts in making big profits, but not taking care of the skin’s health.

I found a company, located in beautiful New Zealand that is an expert on caring for the skin’s health and delaying or reducing the signs of advancing age. They have the best all natural healthy skin care recipes.

The ingredients that they use include active manuka honey, witch hazel, avocado oil, Shea butter, coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, wakame kelp, olive oil, capuacu butter, vitamin B5, grape seed oil, jojoba oil and a bio-active form of keratin.

All of these provide unique benefits for the skin’s health and some are best designed for use during the day, others at night. Some are important only for men, while others are important for both sexes. But, if they are not properly formulated, they will not provide any benefit at all.

For example, coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E solutions are effective antioxidants, but if they are not specifically emulsified for use on the skin, they won’t penetrate. I have seen all natural healthy skin care recipes that promote the use of orange juice, because of its antioxidant activity. Orange juice won’t penetrate, either.

The skin is practically waterproof. If an ingredient is to be beneficial to the skin’s cells, it must be able to get through that waterproof barrier. You and I simply do not have the technology in our kitchens to prepare these solutions.

Bottom line, it would be hard to find something beneficial that has not been modified in some way. If you want something effective, look for a company that has their own all natural healthy skin care recipes and use their products. That’s your best bet.

True Fitness

There is much debate about what true fitness is. Is it the person who can run a marathon everyday for a month straight or is it being able to lift 500 pounds off of the floor? Is it having a strong, lean body or being able to turn heads when you walk by at the beach? Is it the professional athlete who can do amazing things with their sport or is it the stay-at-home mom who seems to work endlessly for her family?

As a fitness professional, I’ve reached my own standard of fitness. It may be a bit different then the “industry” definition, however this is how we measure if someone is living the “FIT” lifestyle.

1. Fitness is being physically able to perform life’s many tasks to the best one’s ability.

Life involves a lot of stuff. We have to run after the kids, do yard work, help a friend move, play in a weekend sports tournament, go for a walk, carry a piece of furniture upstairs (sometimes all of this in one day) You get the point. If we are able to perform all of these tasks to the best of our ability, all of the time, we are on our way to be fit. That’s what we workout for, that’s why we train. Life’s tasks are too important to let our physical UNfitness get in the way. Take care of your physical body by working out, resting and eating properly. These are the 3 main components of physical fitness.

2. Fitness is being emotionally stable.

How many people do you know that are on emotional roller coasters. They experience every high and every low imaginable about every situation. True fitness is having control and discipline over our emotional lives. It’s ok to be happy, sad, angry and blah as long as we realize why we are that way and can control it. Did you know that how we live our physical lives (exercise, rest and nutrition play a major role in our emotions) Take a look at your emotional life, are you controlling your emotions or do they need some training?

3. Fitness is being mentally sharp and alert.

It wasn’t that long ago that I realized the importance of being a life learner. 12 years of school, 4 years of college and 2 years of grad school taught me a lot, however not everything. It is our responsibility to keep our minds in shape by reading, studying and listening to thought provoking material. I had a cousin who used to say that television turns your mind to jelly. Although I don’t believe that altogether, watching just one evening of most our television programs actually seems to make us dumber. Be a good steward of your mind and take notice to how you are training your mind. Is it in need of some exercise?

4. Fitness is knowing who we are and what we are here for.

What good is life without purpose? Many of us ignore our spiritual sides as we pursue our physical fitness. Being spiritually fit plays a huge role in the “FIT” lifestyle. Realizing that we have been made in the image of God and have been placed here for his purposes gives “life” to life and meaning to the day. How’s your spiritual being? Is it fat and out of shape or fit and ready to go? Start training your spiritual self through prayer and bible study for a new body and life.

So there you have it….fitness defined.

Coughing Treatment at Home

Coughing is one of the main symptoms of asthma. The cough in asthma is the same as the cough you get if you have a cold or chest infection. It can be quite dry or mucus may produced. A cough is a sudden, often repetitive, spasmodic contraction of the thoracic cavity, resulting in violent release of air from the lungs, and usually accompanied by a distinctive sound.

Coughing is a useful function and does not always mean there is a problem with your child. However, coughing at night, after going to sleep indicates the need for medical attention.”

Coughing usually means there is something in the respiratory passages that should not be there. This can be caused by breathing in dust particles in the air or when a piece of food goes down the wrong way. Some common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergic rhinitis, sinus problems (for example sinus infection), and esophageal reflux of stomach contents. In rare occasions, chronic cough may be the result of aspiration of foreign objects into the lungs (usually in children). It is very important to obtain a chest x-ray if a chronic cough is present. The following pertains to patients who have a normal chest x-ray.

There are many causes of cough. A thorough history and physical examination help the veterinarian decide which causes of cough are most likely in your pet and helps him or her decide which diagnostic tests to recommend and which therapies are most likely to be effective. Cough originating from the trachea may be stimulated by lightly squeezing the trachea. Cough due to heart disease may be accompanied by a murmur or abnormal heart rate or rhythm.

Controlled coughing technique

1. Sit on a chair or on the edge of your bed, with both feet on the floor. Lean slightly forward. Relax.

2. Fold your arms across your abdomen and breathe in slowly through your nose. (The power of the cough comes from moving air.)

3. To exhale: lean forward, pressing your arms against your abdomen. Cough 2-3* times through a slightly open mouth. Coughs should be short and sharp.

Cough is generally a symptom of some other problem in the body. It is wise to “pull the rug out from under” the cough by helping the rest of the body get well. Healthy bodies do not cough. Whether it is a cold, flu, bronchitis, or pneumonia, strengthening one’s immune system with Vitamin C can only help.

Coughs can be treated with cough medicines. Dry coughs are treated with cough suppressants (antitussives) that suppress the body’s urge to cough, while productive coughs (coughs that produce phlegm) are treated with expectorants that loosen mucus from the respiratory tract. Centrally acting cough suppressants, such as codeine and dextromethorphan reduce the urge to cough by inhibiting the response of the sensory endings by depolarization, or a dulling, of the vagus nerve, the nerve leading from the brain stem and serving the chest area. A recent study indicates that, because of the presence of theobromine in chocolate, 50 grams of dark chocolate may be an effective treatment for a persistent cough.[

Get plenty of rest, and drink lots of fluids. Try over-the-counter medicines to treat your symptoms. See your doctor. He or she can prescribe medicine to relieve your symptoms. If the coughing is severe or if you don’t believe the irritant has been cleared from your airway, see your doctor or go to the emergency room right away.

As you continue with your healthy living program, check in with yourself from time to time. If one wishes to achieve fitness and healthy living, he should go for holistic approach.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a person entering the second half of your life, younger or older, the quality of life and priorities are something you should all be thinking about. Fitness and healthy living cannot be attained without the exercise of one’s will.

By following these few simple suggestions, you can take control of your health and your life. Be aware of how much you enjoy your life, or not.

Three Ways to Improve your Fitness Levels

Many people want to improve their physical fitness levels. However, they often make the excuses that they don’t know how or they don’t have the time. In this article I outline three ways you can implement fitness training into your daily routine.

1) LIFESTYLE CHANGE:- One of the easiest ways to improve your current fitness levels is to make small, positive changes to your daily routine. Specifically, you need to improve your diet and your exercise routine. As I have mentioned, these changes do not have to be large. If you make small changes to your lifestyle at regular intervals these will soon build up to become large changes which yield significant results.

One way you could change your eating habits is by eating one less takeaway a week and substituting this for a healthier, home cooked meal. Then in the second week you could build on this by eating a salad for lunch once or twice a week. You can alter your exercise habits in a similar way. In the first week use stairs instead of elevators. In week two participate in a thirty minute brisk walk twice a week. As you can see these small but positive lifestyle changes collectively become significant changes which can lead to improved fitness levels.

2) FITNESS EQUIPMENT:- Another great way to improve your fitness levels is to take advantage of the large selection of fitness equipment on the market. When choosing fitness equipment you first have to decide what your fitness targets are. Do you want to improve your cardiovascular fitness? If so then a treadmill, rowing machine or exercise bike will be most suitable for you. Do you want to tone and strengthen your muscles? Then free weights and weight machines are what you should be using.

You also need to consider whether you want to purchase the fitness equipment for yourself or take advantage of the fitness equipment at the gym. Both have their own distinct advantages and disadvantages. Owning your own fitness equipment means that you can use it whenever you want, within the comfort of your own home. However, unless you have a lot of storage space and money you will be unable to purchase the range of equipment that a gym can provide. The gym can provide you with a large range of equipment for a relatively low cost. However, when the gym is full you will have to wait for machines and you will also have to spend time commuting to and from the gym.

Whatever you choose regarding your fitness equipment you must consider one important factor. Fitness equipment will assist you in your exercise but it will not do it for you. You still have to put in the time and effort that leads to improved fitness levels.

3) FITNESS TRAINER:- Taking advantage of a fitness trainer is a great way to improve your fitness levels. You can explain your fitness goals to the trainer and then they can show you the best way to achieve them. A fitness trainer should also help you stay motivated, show you where you are going wrong and lead you down the right path, making it more likely that you will achieve your targets.

When choosing a fitness trainer there are a number of factors you should consider. A good fitness trainer should be able to provide success stories from their past which prove their credentials. You should also look at their qualifications to measure how well trained they are. Finally, you should arrange a meeting with a number of fitness trainers and see which ones match your personality.

As you can see there are plenty of options available to you if you want to improve your fitness levels. Although I have given you the advice you have to take that first step and implement fitness training into your daily routine. Choose whichever ideas you think are best for you and get started. The sooner you begin to take action, the sooner you will start to see results.
